For some children, everyday life can be weighed down by sadness, fear, doubt and loss. Often hidden beneath the surface, these issues can manifest in troubling, aggressive behaviour and negative life choices. The Community Justice Initiatives’ (CJI) Langley Restorative Action Program (LRAP) aims to help children cope with these issues and find positive avenues for resolution.

A Sensitive Subject.
CJI was looking for a logo and a video to promote awareness of LRAP and position it as a better way for children in the Langley area to address life problems. This topic required a sensitive approach, including extensive consultation with the CJI team to understand their goals, mission, vision and target audience. We also worked closely with CJI to guide them through the video creation process as this was their first time using video.
Our close collaboration with the CJI team resulted in a video that speaks to the target audience for the LRAP – school-age children and youth. Using illustration, motion graphics and a child for voiceover, the video demonstrates to the viewer that the LRAP is meant for them, to help them find a better way to deal with the issues in their lives.
